- Starting Salary: $32,760.00 / $15.75/hr.
- Pay Grade Z-151.
- Non-Exempt / Mandatory Testing.
- FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT STATUS: Applicable.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Candidate must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills to perform required tasks.
- Capable of operating computer systems and applications.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and conduct minor repairs to equipment, buildings and grounds of the water treatment facility.
- Applicant must have knowledge of Work Zone Safety requirements.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class B driver license with airbrake endorsement or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of employment.
- Must obtain a State of Florida Department of Protection Class 3 Water Distribution license within eighteen (18) months of employment.
- Perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial water meters.
- Check Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and report defects.
- Keep basic records and enter readings using a computerized device.
- Respond to public complaints with resolve.
- Operate maintenance equipment such as tractors, riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc. when normal duties are complete.
- Perform housekeeping including pressure washing and painting.
- Position is subject to emergency call-outs and must be able to work overtime including nights, weekends, holidays and standby as required.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- The selected candidate will have a background check completed, undergo drug testing and complete a physical exam before employment.
- Tasks completed for this position involve regular and sustained physical exertion.
- Tasks may require occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Possession and maintenance of a current valid Florida Class E driver license is also required before employment.
